To see how they would take to each other when they grew up, Mama and Papa Olsen made a very risky decision - to split their twins up. They kept Ashley, but Mary-Kate? The poor dear, got sent to Africa, to live among the peasants in the slums. The parents paid an awful lot for her adoptive parents to take good care of her, and they did. Unfortunately, some habits were instilled that lives on in her, to this very day.

Mary-Kate had lived the traditional way of life. Now, when she is being sarcastic, she likes to say, "OH! Let us tear our clothes; and beat our chests; and kiss the ground on which _______[insert name of person she does not like here] walks on!" Also, because she was not exposed to many people during her years in Africa, she now likes to learn expressions and feelings from others; thus, she tends to imitate everyone else, very exaggeratingly.

She is, in some way, a bit wrong up there in her head (as we all are), but everyone takes to her kindly. Even Ashley tries to do her best after being reunited with her sister, but oh! That poor, poor Mary-Kate. Paris, Nicky and Nicole visit her daily without fail, to help her escape from her greatest nightmare - Anorexia.
